Below is some frequently asked questions and a concrete curing schedule and specification guidelines for concrete patios & Driveways:

    Q. What should I do to increase the longevity of my new decorative concrete patio?
    A. General rule of thumb on a stamped concrete patio is to keep the freshly poured patio concrete moist for 72 hours after pour by simply
    covering it with visqueen (heavy plastic sheeting). After 72 hours pressure wash slab, let dry and seal with 30% solids acrylic sealant.

    Q. How long after I my concrete patio is poured can I walk on it?
    A. If you live in Houston Tx we recommend waiting 48 hours if it is a stamped concrete patio or just 24 hours if it is a plain concrete patio or
    patio extension due to the clay soil content, Concrete patios in California for instance can be walked on later that same evening in most cases
    due to the rocky sand & decomposed granite substrate.

    Q. How long after my Concrete Driveway is poured should I wait before I can drive my car on it?
    A. The answer is two-fold: concrete takes 28 days to reach 95% of it's compressive strength and takes 10 to 14 days to reach %75% of it's
    optimum compressive strength and hardness so we recommend NOT TO DRIVE ON A NEW CONCRETE DRIVEWAY FOR AT LEAST 14 DAYS.

    Q. What type of concrete should my contractor use for my stamped concrete driveway?
    A. When concrete driveways are poured they should have at least 1-1/2" aggregate with compressive strengths proportioned to provide at
    least 3,000 psi and should be a minimum of 6" in thickness.

         Q. What type of concrete should my patio builder use on my pool deck patio?
 A. A Patio Builder in Houston Tx should use 5/8" aggregate with a maximum 4" slump with 5 sack concrete mix. Concrete colors  should be mixed
into the truck for at least 15 minutes and then poured out. Concrete should be 1% air-entrained and should be used with efflorescense retarder
admixtures introduced integrally along with 2% microfiber, color silicates and carefully measured copper or magnesium sulphates should be  
released into the mix during the stamping process to achieve the natural slate or stone . Make sure you run a 1/8" copper wire around the entire
perimeter of the pool tied to #3 rebar concrete deck reinforcement...steel should be encased in a urethane (liquid plastic works great) coating to
prevent corrosion discolorations caused by the rebars (steel) constant contact with moisture.
